Foggy Forms in a Fogless Forest
Charcoal on Paper
May 2026
150cm x 150cm
Utilizing layered tracing paper over a dense charcoal drawing, this piece creates localized zones of synthetic fog that isolate human silhouettes from the surrounding environment. While structurally inspired by the sudden, catastrophic erasures of wartime history—such as the atomic bombings in Japan—the work functions as a broader visual metaphor for how human presence is bleached out of time. The figures remain trapped between visibility and disappearance, existing simultaneously within and apart from the landscape.
